Modern Arrangement: Woven Design

This design consists of manipulating foliage, weaving is a great statement for any arrangement and creates a more edgier depth to the piece.

Inspiration

Fig 1, Berghe M,V Fluer Creatif Spring 2013

Fig 1 - This arrangement has created a weave that sits on top of an asymmetric vase. This contrasts and displays a harmonic balance. The weave is hidden under vivid flowers and creates a modern look

Fig 2, Berghe M,V Fluer Creatif  winter 2013

Fig 2 - This design is large and would create a wonderful statement on a long table. The grass used in this design flows and hangs elegantly of its mechanics. The tone of the work feels gloomy and sad, i would of chosen more vivid foliage that would contrast with the purple vandas

Development

Original sketch 8/05/2014
For my design i will use anthiuriums in a deep green, these flowers are very curvy and rounded, these flowers will contrast well with a hard mesh. With the mesh i will weave bear grass through to hide the container.

step one 8/05/2014
Step one - Prep oasis and mould to container. For the mesh i designed an aysemetric curved design that would complement the anthiuriums and add more depth to the design.

Step Two - Cut the bear grass to size and weave throughout the copper mesh.

The flower composition is important within this design and spacing is crucial for the balance.

Overall i was very happy with this design and the flower composition looks attractive over the weave detailing
